AZFA Accreditation Program


The mission of the AZFA Accreditation Program is to establish, uphold and raise the facility standards for zoological and aquarium institutions through self-evaluation, on-site inspections and peer review.

The purpose of the Accreditation Program is to establish basic standards and guidelines for facilities management programs and to set the facility condition standards for zoological and aquarium facilities.

The Accreditation Program is a tool designed to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the facility programs of member institutions based on the established standards.

The Accreditation Program is designed to provide guidance and direction to member institutions for the development of comprehensive and efficient facilities programs.
